Softening is improving plasticity of oilseeds to make them reach the flaking condition through adjusting moisture and temperature of oilseeds. Softening is maily suitable for low plasticity and hard oilseeds with low oil content, low moisture or high husk rate.The softening machine we usually use is layer softening pot /boller. Softening section is applicable for oilseeds with low oil content or low moisture oilseeds such as soybean or rapeseeds. Direct flaking without softening section might produce large amount of powder. Low moisture rapeseed needs softening before flaking during rapeseed oil pressing process. However, users should be taken into cautious during softening process of high oil content oilseeds such as peanuts.
AdvantagesThrough the regulation of oilseed’s temperature and moisture, the oilseed has a suitable elastic-plastic, which will reduce the degree of powder and stick-on-roller phenomenon, ensure the quality of the flakes.
